Racial profiling has been an
epidemic within this country for many years. For those of you who do not
know what that is, it is where you are “stereotyped” for your appearance and
pre-judged by others who are either prejudiced, fearful, or just plain
hateful. In the news lately, many more situations of racial profiling have
occurred, even with celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey. Take a look at this
article and video.
What do you think of this conceptual
epidemic? Have you ever been racially profiled? Have you ever done it
to someone else - either knowingly or out of habit (keep in mind locking your
doors at a stop light would count)? How would you propose we change
people’s thinking? Why do you think technology companies have bought into
this nonsense?

I do not think it is right at all especially because it states that it specifically targets Blacks and Latinos. African Americans get targeted everyday already without this technology. Now, they want to do more damage? I always said we never have the right to privacy and this proves my point even more. If this piece of technology is being used for the Police Department, I feel like they should need a warrant. They should not be able to track you and have access to all your information without you willingly knowing, let alone agreeing with it. The article stated “Blacks and Latinos are most vulnerable since they use their cell phones more than whites”. I do not care if a person is blue or orange and uses their phone 24/7. That does not give them the right to invest in this technology. If it specifically targets a certain race like blacks that means that me or any other black person is “vulnerable” to this too. Also, young people are always on their phones more than adults so are they just as “vulnerable”? Yes, I have been racially profiled before. A couple summers ago, I was driving through Manning, South Carolina. At least doing 5-10 over the speed limit (which was 50) when I got pulled over by a white Sherriff. As soon as I rolled down the window, before I could say anything he asked for my license etc. Not even 5 minutes later, he came back and wrote me a ticket for $445! I know I was speeding, but that amount was ridiculous! Now that I think about it, I have racially profiled someone else. I really would not call it racial profiling, but when I am at a red light and I see a homeless person I automatically lock my doors. However, we cannot change the way people think even if we tried. Some people will continue to do what they want or believe is right. Which is a reason some may invest in this technology.
Racial profiling is very common where I stay at which is Harrisburg, North Carolina. I consider it the suburbs the outskirts of charlotte. When me and my mother first moved into the neighborhood we use to get looks like “You don’t suppose to live here”. They always send us letter in the mail stating we needed to fix our flower bed or our trash can was on the side of the rode to long. Our flower bed looked like every once else’s and few other people had left their trash can on the side of the rode an extra night but they didn’t get a letter. My friends and I use to get blamed for stuff that was broking at the neighborhood pool that other people had broken. I will admit I have racially profiled someone, I have locked my doors before when I was sitting at a gas station in a rough area before. I think racial profiling is a habit for some people because people are not use to certain environments or not use to seeing certain things. I don’t think racial profiling is thought it just comes naturally. I think you could change people thinking by placing them in different environments and experiencing different circumstances. If every person in the world could do that at least once in their life time it would cut down on so much hate in the world. People could experience different struggles and I understand where people were coming from. If that was to happen the world would be more peaceful.
I believe that racial profiling shows how much African Americans and Latinos are considered not equal to the Caucasian race. I think the main cause of this conceptual epidemic is what’s on social media and what’s on tv. For example, I see a lot of memes on social media that are targeted to black people and then some black people feed into it like it’s okay that other people are making memes of or race. One day, I was on Instagram and it was one meme that had something about how black people never know who their dad is and it was a white boy commenting “Tyrone every time I come over your dad is never home.” Stuff like that makes me realize how some Caucasians have certain views about the African American race. I have been racially profiled before. One time I was shopping at Charlotte Russe and one of the employees (white) asked me do I need help, and she only asked that because she assumed that I’m going to steal something. I do racially profile sometimes, but I try not because I know it’s hypocritical of me to say something about another race. I think the way for racial profiling to change is for the memes to stop and other things that are on tv to change, because if not our children will do the same thing and the next generations. I believe technology bought that device because they are nosey and believe that the African and Latino race are the only ones causing trouble in the society, when many white people engage in the same activity as we do.
Racial profiling occurs often everywhere. I think that the whole article is targeted towards just Blacks and Latinos as minorities. But anyone who has possession of a phone has the right to utilize it how long they please. I don’t think being able to track one’s whereabouts is necessary because now that it is kind of invasion of privacy. It is like they are already trying to label or incriminate you for using a phone. Of course, anything you post on social media is going to be there for anyone to see even after it is deleted, but to be able to access text messages and location is a bit too much. I remember over the summer before coming back, I was attending the movie theaters but was denied to see a movie because my cousin forgot her I.D even though she was old enough, but then a group of white kids come right after us and he just let them through without checking their I.D. I’m sure there have been plenty of times I have been racially profiled, but I really don’t pay attention to it actually. I don’t think I have racially profiled anyone. I don’t think there is a way to change people’s thinking, just like the saying “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.” I believe people are taught to stereotype or to hate others based on how they appear. There is no reason I can think of as to why companies would cosign with this, other than to get people who are not minorities on their side.
Racial profiling is a bigger problem than it should be. It isn’t right for anyone to be judged because because of the color of their skin. Racial profiling is a problem because people here about something a person from a particular race did and then generalize the whole race and look at the whole race as bad. Whether we realize or not we all do it, once we hear about something we are on guard. I remember a time recently that i went to shop at Vineyard Vines and this white man stared at my brother and I the whole time, he never said anything but you could read his body language and facial expressions. Even though he didn’t use words I could tell that he was either thinking “What are they doing here?” or “Why are they here?” and I also felt as if he didn’t think I could afford anything since I am a young black male. On the other hand I have also been guilty of racial profiling. If I hear about something crazy that happened I automatically think it’s a white person. I don’t like to think this way but when you hear about the same race doing the same things it just pops up in your mind every time. For me, if i hear something about a person shooting up a place, or eating bugs or something crazy, I automatically think it is a white person. If I hear about a place getting robbed I automatically think it’s a black person. The funny thing about racial profiling is that we racially profile our own race even if we don’t realize it. There is no way of changing how people think and putting an end to racial profiling. The reason I say this is because no one is ever going to ignore race and as long as we don’t ignore race there will be racism, racial profiling, etcetera. I think technology companies buy into this is because most of them are owned and ran by white people who racially profiles other races.
In my opinion, I believe that is not okay for police officers to track minorities iPhones. This is what I consider, invasion of privacy. Just because African Americans use their phones more does not justify police officers tracking their phones. I feel as if this should be illegal, but according to the video, and article it will not be anytime soon. Sadly, I have been guilty of racial profiling. It wasn’t even necessarily based upon the skin tone of the individual, it was because the individual’s actions came across as scary. I locked my door while I was sitting in a parking lot, because of the individual’s actions. Looking back now, I see that it was racial profiling in a way. I feel bad, because I am racially profiled a lot. Just because I am an African American girl, often people expect me to be a teen mother, or not attend college. It’s not cool being racially profiled, but it is cool seeing people’s faces when they learn that I am nothing like what people make African American’s out to be. I believe that we should all stop listening to others, and social media. We should rely on our own experience with an individual to fully grasp an idea of what they are like. Technology companies have probably bought into this nonsense, because they know that race is a big issue right now. Racist or prejudice individuals, and companies are likely to invest in such nonsense.
Racial profiling has been going on in this country since the day it was found. People constantly make prejudgments of others simply because of the color of their skin. This prejudgment can be coming from a source of hate or pure habit. Some people get the way they see others from the environment they are raised in, not knowing that their actually stereotyping others. I believe that America and any other country should change the way they see others. We should see a black man and assume that they can’t be successful or even see a white man and assume their success is inevitable. Every race should be thought of and treated equally, and the fact that it is not is really a problem that needs to be fixed. I personally have never been racially profiled but I have heard of others that have. These stories range from how people look at them in stores to why that person didn’t get a certain job. I must admit though, I have found myself racially profiling others but it is either not knowingly or a part of a joke. I’ve taken notice that technology companies have even bought into this nonsense, probably to simply make the most money as possible. I do believe that America is very much possible of changing the way they think. It’s starts though, with every individual in this country. It is up to each and everybody to make a conscious decision within themselves to put an effort into stop racial profiling. It will be a gradual process, but I believe with time racial profiling can be eliminated from this country.
I personally think a device like this shouldn’t even exist because it would cause many problems. As seen in the article and in the video, you have shown us. We as a country already have too many problems and we don’t need this one on top of what we already have. It’s kind of hard to say but yes and no. I have been in the car with my dad and they have racially profiled us based on the color and the rims on his truck. Which just crazy to do based on what color a truck is and what accessory there are. Have you ever done it to someone else - either knowingly or out of habit (keep in mind locking your doors at a stop light would count)? There was that one time when I have done it to someone else but then I realized that it wasn’t the right thing to do. Because I don’t even know what that person is really like. Because I sure don’t want anyone else to do that towards me or my family. we can’t do anything, it’s up to that person on their own if they want things to change. We can’t expect one person to try and change everyone at once. There is a saying,” you can lead the horse to the water but you can’t make him drink it.” I think that they just want some money and they really don’t care. Which is also sad that they care enough for anybody else but themselves
As you stated, racial profiling is not a new thing. it can happen to anyone at any time. Personally, I believe that it happens more often to minorities (Blacks, Hispanics, etc.) than the majorities(white) in America. To be honest I feel like you cannot go through life without racially profiling someone. I truly believe that all racial profiling is not bad. Some of the things people say about other races can be good. Some examples are that all Asian people are smart; All white people have good credit; All black people are fast. This is just to name a few of them. I do not find these to be bad stereotype, but that is my opinion. Others may think they are offensive. But don’t get it twisted, the bad stereotypes outweigh the good in this case. There are way more bad things you can say or think about another race. This is what is wrong with the world today. Because someone thinks bad about another race, they will hate for no reason just because they think they are better than them. An example of this is the holocaust. The Germans thought they were better than the Jews so they killed them. To get rid of racial profiling would be a nearly impossible task but, if I could do anything about it I would try to get rid of the concept of race all together. I would do this because and the end of the day we are all human beings that live on the same Earth.
I believe that this conceptual epidemic takes away from our right to privacy. I feel as if it were created to keep the ‘whites’ in control/power. Occasionally, the government slips something into the black or Latino community, for example “weed” which was created to cause chaos and fear. This new technology is the next step above weed, to again give the government control. Yes, I have been racially profiled. I was driving when a car hit me and my car began to spin, I was able to move it off the road. Once the policeman arrived, he immediately rushed to my car and his exact words were, “I smell weed, I am going to have to search the vehicle.” I had never smoked weed, so I told him that and I said but you can search the car, because I didn’t have any weed what so ever. He didn’t search my car, because he didn’t smell any weed to begin with. I have also been guilty of social profiling. Whenever I am in a neighborhood that has a high crime rate, I tend to lock my car doors. I do not think we can change the way people think, unless we change the way the government operates. The government uses violence to create fear, so they can maintain control. Eliminate the government’s way of dealing with situations and we will have a lower crime rate, and possible less racial profiling. I think technology companies have brought into this nonsense to make a profit. Like other companies, they react on reality and the people’s fear to bring more money to their own company.
I don't like the fact of this being targeted at blacks and latinos. Racial profiling has been around for many years and this shows that it is still happening today. Blacks tend to be more racially profiled in world and this technology is going to be able to make it happen even more. This should be right. Just because blacks text more than whites and latinos should they be able to be tracked by cell phone? I feel like police should only have a warrant to be able to look through people’s private messages, they should be able to do just because they are the police. Like the video said, police need a warrant to get in one’s house so they should do the same for one’s personal messages and/or calls. I have been racially profiled a many of times. I used to work at a fast food restaurant in a white area and a man saw me outside on my break and gave me a stare. I was frightened by this and told my family later that day. I have not racially profiled anyone else other than just locking my doors when i'm in a bad neighborhood and i hope i can stop this because it is a horrible thing. Everyone should just learn to get along and care for one another no matter their skin color. Police think this is an advantage because they can just go into blacks phones and if they are talking about anything bad then they have the right to arrest them or take them down. I feel like technology companies could have bought into this because they feel like they can be in control.
Racial profiling is something that has been huge in our countries history for centuries now. Although it has always been a part of the history of this country, it is in fact growing rapidly in today’s time as well. People often stereotype racially based off many different factors. Whether it is based off something they have heard, seen, or even experienced for themselves. I would agree with most people, that racial profiling is in a way due to a lack of personal knowledge. In my opinion, I would say that I hate the idea of this concept. It has shown so much ignorance and disgust throughout the world. Although I have not been profiled personally, I have seen it been dashed out towards others. I will say the I have profile people on other cases, but not do to their racial background. I can remember a times where I would be in the car by myself and I would lock the door when I saw a stranger that looked harmful. I honestly wish there was something that we could do to change the way people felt about others. Racial profiling is something that is learned individually. It takes the individual to want to unlearn these hateful, disgusting behaviors. Technology has bought into this concept because of many different factors. Companies know that their businesses will flourish if they create something that will be helpful to profile people in an easier way. It is very sad that we live in a time that we still are criticized based off of the color of our skin.
• I do not think it is okay to racial profile anyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, height, weight or anything else. Where I’m from (Wallace, NC) racial profiling is very common, because we still have those good old boys and those old white people who are still stuck in their ways that “If it isn’t white it isn’t right.” Most people either profile the African American or Latinos community, which is nothing new. African Americans have been targeted since earlier times. Recently in more recent timing the Latino community has been targeted especially in this past presidential election, where they were directly targeted by Trump. When I cheered back in middle school and high school my school district was, one of the ghetto parts of the district, so we as a cheerleading squad many times was labeled as ghetto because we did not do all the stick (easy) cheers that the white schools did. My cheerleading team did more of the shaking and stomping with our cheers while they hollered and barley moved anything. I have locked my doors at stop lights before but that was because I was a female riding alone and my mom has always told me to be careful because anything can happen at a stoplight, I would not have considered that as racial profiling, that was more of a safety issue. Changing people’s thinking is the hard part, because hate is a taught emotion and if you are taught to hate other for their ethnicity when you are young you grow up doing it for the rest of your life. The only thing I can say to continue to do is have each ethnicity do positive things.
I agree racial profiling is such a big issue in the world today. Racial profiling has led to many African American deaths the past couple years and sad to say it’s probably only going to get worst from here on out. Being that Trump is the new president, I feel as if he has it out more for blacks and Latinos more than his own people. I have done this to someone before, not realizing I did. I always lock my car doors when I get suspicious of someone coming around me while I was in the car; whether they were black, white, latino, or asian. Racial profiling is terrible now, but I don’t think it’s necessary to have to track somebody down via IPhone; it’s an invasion of privacy no matter what race the person is. As far as technology companies, they play into this mainly because they are owned by white people. Most white people believe their superior to any other race, and that is ignorance at its finest. Black people are stereotyped the most for everything, both genders. As young men, they are stereotyped a lot for either being on the streets, selling drugs, dropping out of school, and ending up dead. As for young women, their either going to become pregnant, drop out of school, or never go to college. Those stereotypes not only come from white people, but people that’s the same color as me, which is sad. I feel every race should be treated as they are equal, and that one race is not better than another; but the world we live in today that is something that will never happen!
Being racial profiled is the use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offense. I have been racially profiled several times and I get offended sometimes. I have been to stores and a white worker walks up like any other worker usually does, so I tell them im just looking I don’t need help if I do I’ll let them know. Im walking around the store and 5 minutes later I look and it’s the same worker that just asked did I need help. I ignore it keep looking around and walk to another section of the store and it’s the same worker. Me being the person I am I want to say something but I just ignore the situation even though im mad and leave the store. I feel like me being a black/African American male I was being racially profiled because they were not use to seeing a black male in the store. I have racially profiled someone before and I know that isn’t right but I was in a ruff area in charlotte and i was waiting on a friend to come out of the gas station and I see a lot of ruff looking black and white looking males just staring looking suspicious by walking past the car and looking all in the car. I locked the doors until my friend came out of the store and the people outside of the store were asking my friend for money and getting upset because he didn’t give them any money or anything. I feel that I wasn’t wrong at a certain extent because I was in a ruff area and people were looking suspicious.

Racial profiling definitely exists in today's society and it's something that needs to be stopped. I've experience racial profiling in various places and scenarios. I've been shopping in higher end stores like South Park mall in Charlotte North Carolina and they definitely descriminate as you enter stores. Everything is different from the way they greet you to the way that they check you out. Racial profiling is typically towards African-Americas and even hispanics. I only limited to Hispanic as and African Americans because those are actual occurrences that I've experienced. Personally I am not proud of some decisions that I've made as a retail employee. But I've definitely profiled people even as an African American myself. For example, I've seen a lot of male and female enter my place of work which is old navy and they would look suspicious. With them looking the way they did, I whispered into my headset and advised our loss prevention workers to watch them as they walked through the store. That is completely hypocritical of me especially because I hate experiencing racial profiling myself. I have never done that sense and I hope that I will never do it in the future. I really hope the issue of racial profiling decreases as a whole but significantly in the United States since we all live here.
Racial profiling is something that minorities especially black and latinos must endure due to the stereotypes that are placed on us. Racial profiling has been around forever but now due social media it is seen more and heard more. I don't believe racial profiling is ok but it becomes habitual, society pushes stereotypes on us and after constantly hearing and seeing the way society portrays certain ethnicities you begin to start doing profiling yourself many sitcoms have these stereotypes in them. For example also when I'm sitting in my car and I see someone coming up and they look suspicious I'll get nervous and will keep staring and lock my doors. Or whenever I'm in a new place I'll lock my doors a lot, also working in retail we are told to watch certain people closer for example people who come in big groups or if they have a lot of kids. I myself growing up in predominantly white schools would get profiled by some of my classmates because my dad didn't play football they wondered how I afforded school there. Another time that I've been racially profiled is when I went to the dollar store in Hanes mall and the owner just kept following me and my friends over the store and kept asking pointless questions.I believe that technology could change the way of people thinking if they would stop portraying every minority as a bad person or that they can't afford the finer things. Every where you look you see television shows portraying African Americans as ghetto, loud and poor and Latinos as poor and always pregnant or as illegal immigrants.
Racial profiling is a problem that has always occurred in this country and continues to occur every day. In no way is it okay but it happens. I personally have been racially profiled in the store before, because someone had stolen something while my friends and I were in Macy’s. However while they were giving us a hard time the person stealing was getting away it. I believe everyone racially profiles to an extent, because I know in rough areas for example some gas stations in Winston ill see some sketchy people and won’t hesitate to lock my doors. I feel the denotative profiling on minorities is a big issue though I don’t feel like blacks and Hispanics should be seen as trouble because of their complexion, or Muslims being viewed like terrorist. Especially when America is a made of the many different people that came here over time. I’m definitely against the specific targeting of minorities through the tracking of phones because it’s like what did we do to deserve this. I was born here just like everyone else so if I’m going to be tracked I expect everyone else of every color to be tracked as frequently as me. I believe we should work toward a less judgmental society and leave prejudice as a thing of the past. Especially because if you look at the past its one of the things that separated people and lessened our progress as a country over time, and hindered it from growing as much as it could have if all our people were united.
I feel that racial profiling is a huge disadvantage in many ways. Racial profiling can cause others to miss out on more than they can get out of someone. You may miss out on some huge life advice just because you don’t like others outside of your race or a different race. I have been guilty of profiling others not necessarily on purpose but just out of habit or past experiences that have occurred in the past. I am guilty of locking my doors just because of someone’s appearance just to be on the safe side. I feel like we could change people’s thinking on racial profiling by having someone a different race that is a different race that is not accepted tell a message or say something that spark the others attention. Technology has also bought into this nonsense because a lot of the owners are white men and they think they are better than any other race. I feel that this is totally wrong and you can miss out on many opportunities in life by doing this. Racial profiling happens every day and many people are so immune to it they don’t even realize that they are doing so. I wish that things should change but I feel that a lot of people will never change these ways just because the way they were raised. Parents and your family can have a big influence on how you view others no matter if it is a good or bad way.
Racial profiling in my opinion is probably one of the biggest problems in today’s society. It’s been going on for generations and generation. Still doesn’t seem to get any better. I have seen just about all of it, coming from a small town. When you go in certain places people watch you like a hawk. For example, I have been in some country stores that sale southern clothing. The workers in the store just kept asking me “did you find anything yet?” or “are you looking for anything particular?”. Which was very aggravating because it gives you the thought of “wow they really think I’m going to steal something” Or “they think I don’t have enough to buy any of this”. Which makes you not even want to shop there. I have also experienced looking at house for sale in a white neighborhood and the cops being called on me with the person saying “They looked suspicious, like they were trying to break in”. In the southern states I feel like it’s worse than the northern states Only because some of the older white generation are stuck in their ways, because of the way they are brought up . I’m guilty myself of racial profiling myself in some cases, when I see Asian or a Chinese person I automatically thing they are smart. Then having a device to track minorities cell phones is a little overboard. It’ll end up causing more confusion. More things for people to talk about. Just something else to be all over the news and the media.
Racial profiling is something that has always happen and history repeats. I feel as if in today’s society everything is stereotyped as of the clothes we were, beliefs, and even skin colors. People are judged mainly by their skin color and how they look. Most times peoples appearance and skin color do not have anything with how they act or perceived. Pretty much we all judge a books by its color. I witnessed racial profiling at party at wake forest at a barn party, to get into the party you must have a ticket if you don’t you can’t get in, So pretty much they would let all the white students get in and held the black students outside. I don’t think we can change how people think due to how society is set up its kind of to late, and everyone have different perspectives. In America everything is done wrong as country and people are more likely to stereotype as more news is presented. Blacks are racial profiled due to the population being higher and others see blacks as dangerous especially in particular states/cities. Yes, I have personally racial profiled someone. For example if I were to sit in the car and I see someone strange walk pass or pull beside me I would lock my door due to feelings about what could happen. Also, I believe we sometimes even racial profile our own race, I think technology companies have brought this up because blacks are more likely to use there device than a white person. Blacks and latino’s are more likely to be racially profiled and to use there device more often so this gives them more things to look at.
Racial profiling has been going on for years, and I think it’s never going to end. I feel like this technology they are trying to invest in is really crazy. Who cares if African Americans and Latinos be on their phones more than whites? What makes Whites greater than anybody else? Where and what book is it stated that they need to get treated better than us? Its 2017, slavery was hundreds of years ago and people still seem to treat African Americans different from others. No I have not been racially profiled but I have done it to someone else. Why? I got it from my mother. People out here are really crazy now a days like for real. One day it was just me and my mom in the car enjoying our day and this homeless man was begging for man, and he decided to grab the door handle. Ever since that day I started to lock the doors once I started driving. Every time I see a homeless person black, white, Latino I’m locking my door nobody not about to car jack me. This not grand theft auto. I’m little too so you know how easy it would be for somebody to sling me out of car. Like I’m not going for that I don’t care if I’m in the suburbs or the hood, I’m locking my door. At the end of the day its wrong I know all homeless people are not like that but I’m not about to take any chances.
I hate that racial profiling is still a big issue in our country. The fact that people really, without getting to know a person, will look at a person and just categorize them based off the complexion of their skin. With my dad being African American and my mom being Puerto Rican, I’ve been a victim of a lot racial profiling. People used to swear up and down that my mom wasn’t my mom. Growing up it has been said that I look mean when I have a straight face. There was once a rumor where someone said if someone looked at me for too long or spoke to me I would try to fight the person and that is just not true; I’m actually a pretty nice guy. I will admit I used to be racist towards white people. The more I learned about how whites treated blacks in the past the more I disliked them. I couldn’t imagine myself ever trusting a white person for a long time. That would later change between 8th and 9th grade because that is when I met a white guy that I consider to be like a brother till this day. I still believe I will never truly trust white people, especially after this election. I hate to say it but I’m a person who doesn’t believe that people will ever stop racial profiling. Based off what has happened in history, one race will always fill more superior over the next which will always cause issues. Technology companies only included the tracking systems in their product because it brings in more profit. When it comes to companies, all they care about is money.
Racial profiling is something that people have been doing for ages. Judging a book by it’s cover because of the way a person dresses and talk doesn’t mean they are what you think. Stereotypes has made people look at us black people different and other ethnicities. For an example it’s hard for people with dreads and a lot of tattoos to get a decent job because they are “Ghetto” or “Hood”. I see racially profiling everyday with my roommate, her skin is white but her ethnicity is black and white. Her mother is black and father is white, but everyone judged her because she have Jordans and dresses as if she was black saying “she wanna be black or she act like a black girl” but in reality she technically have black in her blood. Everyone has said some racially profiling comments to someone whether they realized it or not just because a person looked differently from them. Yes at certain stop lights I make sure the doors are lock because I think a crackhead or anybody will try to rob you while at the light. I don’t think people will change and stop the judgmental comments on social media and in public. Social media and technology companies has made a trend for being nosey and believing something without know facts about the person or situation. I think it has been brought to our attention because most of the companies has racial problems and owned by white people.
I really think being stereotyped should stop because just the color of your skin doesn't mean you're like every other person that is your race. And that's crazy because people mindset really be so negative for no reason it's some people nicer than you're race. But some people wouldn't know that because they judge on their first time seeing them. Some people don't even try to get to know other races.Racial profiling is common everywhere. I live in Wilmington and there are very racist white people. You see them everyday one day I was driving down of our busiest street, a white men was trying to get out. I wasn't really worried about it because at that time there was no one behind me. He got so angry I didn't let him out in front of me that he flicked me off. I was kinda mad because I didn't do nothing he was just very impatient. I also had a lot of white friends and I could tell that some of the mothers were racist but they wouldn't ever tell them they couldn't hangout with them because I am a good person. I have done it to someone before I'll lock my doors so many times when it's a lot of white men around me and my care. People are crazy these days especially white ones on crack and heroine.
Racial profiling is an epidemic that has always bothered me. It is something I have never fully understood. The strange thing about it is that since it is so common, people are quick to subconsciously do it. I feel also as if minorities have it worse when it comes to racial profiling because there are so many stereotypes made up and minorities, especially blacks. I have knowing done the whole locking the door thing, but not at a stoplight, that’s a little too dramatic. I have locked my doors at a couple corner stores that had people standing around. There’s a difference though, I’d rather keep myself safe and secure while I’m waiting, rather than just locking the car when all actuality, no one is going to run up to the car while at a quick stoplight. I feel like since people are so used to being stereotypical and racially profiling, it won’t stop. I don’t think that people will care either to try to put a stop to it. People of this generation like to use little things against people to hurt them, so they wouldn’t want to stop profiling and accusing people. I think that technology companies feed into it because it puts money in their pockets. People starting things like that on social media and saying things to make it trend, give people a reason to use the social networking cite. Since people go to social media about everything these days, people will be sure to find all kinds of profiling info about people, and people’s opinions about it.
I honestly feel like racial profiling is something that shouldn’t still be going on. It has been a problem for a long time. The only people who I ever see that really do racist things or treat people poorly is white/ Caucasian people. I stayed in a town where most Caucasian people acted like they liked black people. Most of the came out as Trump supporters toward the end. Most of the kids I went to school with voted for trump. I didn’t talk to many of the Caucasian kids in school. But most of the ones that were all in the black kids’ faces were the first ones to tweet “Make America Great Again.” So, that took a lot of us by surprise. Even the kids at my old high school are now segregated. Mostly because, our Superintendent got fired and the interim superintendent said that the school was too ghetto. So, they took away the fun things that we could do in school. They stopped playing music at the basketball games and when questioned about it they said it was “in the handbook” and they didn’t want the cheerleaders to be “ratchet” and started suspending them from games if they battled other teams. So now the black and Hispanic kids talk to each other and the white kids stay to themselves. I’m not going to lie I have racial profiled someone before in my head but I don’t mistreat people because of the color of their skin only by their actions. Ways of changing others opinions would be by showing people that everyone goes through the same things and no one is less than anyone else. We are all human and should be treated as equals. Not only when an innocent person gets shot and killed.
